About this role

We’re looking for a hands-on, people-loving Supervisor to help keep the good times rolling at Hoopla—Melbourne’s newest family entertainment destination. From the buzzing playground to the fully-licensed restaurant and bar, you’ll be right in the thick of it—supporting the team on the floor or behind the counter to keep everything running smoothly.

You’ll work closely with the Venue Manager and other supervisors to ensure guests have a top-tier experience, staff feel supported, and the day-to-day ticks along without a hitch.

• At least 1 year of experience in hospitality, entertainment, or customer-facing roles
• Full-time availability (including evenings, weekends, and school holidays)
• A positive attitude and a can-do approach to problem-solving
• Must have full working rights in Australia

• Support the team on the floor, behind the bar, and wherever help is needed
• Keep service moving and step in when things get busy
• Help with basic admin tasks like stock counts, opening/closing, and staff support
• Be a go-to person for guest questions, team guidance, and venue upkeep

About The Role

Hoopla is seeking professional and enthusiastic Bar Staff to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a key part of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages, maintaining a clean and organised bar area, and ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and take drink orders with professionalism and efficiency.
• Provide thoughtful recommendations based on customer preferences and promote drink specials.
• Ensure guests have an outstanding experience and address any inquiries or concerns promptly and courteously.

• Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits.
• Ensure all drinks are served accurately, promptly, and to the highest standard.

• Keep the bar area clean, organised, and well-stocked at all times.
• Restock supplies, including glassware, garnishes, and beverages as needed.
• Perform regular inventory checks and report any shortages or issues to the Bar Manager.

Qualifications

• Must have previous and proficient bar experience.
• Strong understanding of drink preparation techniques and bar operations is an advantage.

• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Professional, friendly, and team-oriented attitude.
• Reliability, punctuality, and flexibility with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be available Friday nights, Saturdays & Sundays
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry heavy items such as kegs and cases of beverages.
• Manual dexterity for handling bar equipment and glassware safely.

• Organise and supervise party events, ensuring everything is done on time and within tight deadlines.
• Manage party set-up, hosting, and clean-up, ensuring smooth transitions between activities while keeping the energy up and guests engaged.

• Help maintain a clean, organised space, assisting guests and supporting the FOH team.
• Assist in various areas around the venue as needed to ensure a fun and efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Experience working with kids or hosting events is a bonus!
